The focus in SciTalk is science in everyday conversations or science conversations between trainee teachers and teachers and children (3-9 years old) in nursery and primary schools. Everyday conversations are often used by teachers to provide instruction and are organised in Initiative-Response-Evaluation (IRE) structures. As a result, the thoughts and opinions of the children are usually ignored.
