My name is Dana, I come from Slovakia and study Water-Management in Middleburg. I chose this course because it combines theory and field practical which means I can practice the skills I have learned right away. For example, we have already presented a project on climate-neutrality to the Municipality of Goes. Activities, such as these, are useful and will help me gain experience for my future career. Furthermore, studying in the Netherlands is beneficial as the country is very environmentally-oriented and invests research into this study.
I like that HZ allows students to be in close contact with the lecturers and allows the opportunity to create connections with outside expert in our study areas by scheduling guest lectures. I decided to follow the four-year track for my studies because studying abroad during my third year appeals to me. I enjoy learning about different cultures and meeting new people, which is why I chose to study abroad in the first place. I found it easy to meet friends here and join clubs because everyone is super friendly and social events are frequently organized by the university. Also, the beach and lively city centre are fun to visit in my free time.
