European Credit Transfer System

In order to obtain a bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences, a student must earn a total of 240 EC credits. According to Dutch law, 1 EC credit represents 28 hours of study.
 
60 credits represent one year of full-time study. If a student wishes to major in a specific field of study, he/she must obtain 120 EC in this area, including the work placement.

The Dutch grading system ranges from 1 (fail) to 10 (excellent).
